I just found it on car-parts.com searching under 1991 Audi 200 Engine DOHC. The place is DADS, I went there to get my B4 hood and stuff and am actually planning to go back up there pretty soon to return my old hood for some cash. Anyone want me to check out this engine for them while I'm there? I plan on going up this Sunday. Bigmouse if you're reading this I know you live areound this area, any input? A mini meet maybe?

Howdy! DADS is almost the most expensive place to pickup parts from what I remember. I think they have a bare block for $1k, but I could be wrong. That would be a steal at $1k, doubtful.

The 1991 200 also came with the 10vt so make sure it is the 20v before you get your hopes up.

Well anyway I e-mailed them to clear up anything, so I'll post if its just a fluke or a really good deal.

they were never selling 20vt for less than $3500. Their stated range was "$3500 to $5000." Audi_80 is probably right about it being just the block, but it's worth checking out.

There seem to be a lot of people interested in the 20vt lately. More than usual...I sure hope there will be one left when its my turn ;-)

I'd call them, and find out. DAD's is usually VERY high in price. They were selling incomplete 10vt's for around there I thought.

BTW, short block means NO head, NO turbo, NO IM or EM, basically just the block, crank, rods, piston, oil sump and pump, and rear main flange/seal. NOTHING else.

Yea so its just the short block. Fill me in, is that a reasonable price or a little too much?

Make sure it at least has the turbo. Sounds like it's just the block, don't bother with it. I'd have no problem meeting up with you though if you make it out here.
