View Full Version : Anybody have experience with the 2bennett coilover setup? squrlathon 01-28-2003, 09:50 PM MikTip 01-29-2003, 01:01 AM

http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Track/4408/feature2.htm</a

Rob K 01-29-2003, 08:06 AM squrlathon 01-29-2003, 01:41 PM If adjusting ride height is a pain then I'm not going to spend the money because I'll probably never use it. I've already got H&R springs, can I keep these in a coil-over setup? I emailed 2bennett but no response yet. I emailed you before too, Rob -- I was asking about your turbo setup. I'll probably be wanting to do that within the next year so I want to start researching now. I won't be doing the work myself, for the most part. Rob K 01-30-2003, 08:00 AM The front springs are linear, they are 340# ERS springs. The rears appear to be progressive. I am very happy with the setup, it is not a harsh suspension at all. It removed a lot of understeer, and I am able to raise and lower the car between summer and winter which is one of the biggest reasons I went with coilovers. My only complaints are the rear shocks have to be removed to adjust them, and the rear height is difficult to adjust. As well there is less range of height adjustability in the rear. Squrlathon, I am certain you can't use the H&R springs in the front with the 2B kit, but you may be able to use them in the rear. Did I ever reply to your e-mail? If not let me know. MikTip 01-30-2003, 01:10 PM I can say the setup on my 86 Coupe was slightly more harsh than needed for street use. On the track, nearly perfect! ;O) I wouldnt recommend a coil-over setup for a strictly driven street car! Main reason for coils is variable adjustability, for various tracks! On a street car, its simply for "show"! Most streets are way too bumpy as well! BTDT! |
