View Full Version : 2 Radio wiring harness questions

'93 90S
1) The radio has three plugs in the back. One is red and connects the basic stuff (power, ground, speakers). There is a black wire on the right side, and a white wire below it. What are these wires for?
2) What wiring harness adapter should I use to swap out the HU? (Schoshe VW01?)

1) The white wire is for the aerial booster and the buzzer that tells you your radio is on when you open the door (since the radio doesn't turn off with the key)...basically it is the 'remote' wire. Check this first before using it because usually its in the standard harness that you mentioned...

Not sure what the black is tho :(

my car does not buzz when i open the door and the radio is left on how do i fix that i have a 1990 Audi 80
