When I look at the latest A4 tail lights, they appear to me to be just like every other American car on the road. The '96-'97 tail lights with the amber flashers look more European, in keeping with the car's lineage.

The new Chevrolet/GMC Silverado/Sierra pickup trucks have amber turn signals at the back, Chevrolet/Pontiac/Oldsmobile minivans have amber turn signals at the back, Mercury Cougar has amber turn signals, Ford Focus has them, Contour/Mystique have them or even Chryler 300M has amber turn signals.
Not all American car's turn signals are those dangerous red turn signals. Audi should make all of its turn signals ORANGE. That's called PASSIVE SAFETY. People can see the orange signal, people thought red is brake lights. (One of new Focus's passive safety feature is orange turn signal from what I heard from the Ford salesperson)

...bitched and bitched that they should be all red! Now that Audi made them red, it's bitch, bitch, bitch, that they should be amber! FWIW, all red is not new to Audi. Older Audi's had all red signal lenses. To me, it doesn't matter what color, as long as the signal lamp is seperate from the brake lamp.

I can just here it now: In a few years, Audi will go back to all red dash lighting because everyone complained about the white back-lighting. Then, the red lighting won't be good enough, and we'll all complain, wanting the white back-lighting back.

Is it just like us Americans to never accept anything? We always have to have something to whine about.

This is not intended to be an attack, BTW, because I do the same dman thing sometimes. I just think it's humerous that this is the way we live our lives. Now get on with your lives! :-)

at least Audi separates the turn signal flasher from the brake light, taillight, and rear fog light.
