Occasionally, the "dummy lights" stay on after starting it up, but they go right away with a tap of the gas.

Now, I read a thread earlier on here that said it was a sign of low voltage, so I was wondering if this is a sign that the alternator is going? Voltage regulor? Or something else?

Thanks

Howdy! Could be an alternator, battery not charging fully, sticky ignition switch, many things. When the lights stay on try opening the windows, if they don't then the switch may be at fault. Pop the regulator out the back of the alternator, two screws, pull out. If the brushes are really short then replace. Check battery voltage before starting with the interior gauge and if you don't have one then with a DMM. Should be 12 or so volts.

(I mean just tighten the alt belt) or like alex said the battery might not be charging in conjunction to all that.
