Having a Close Look at Air Intake improvements, I came up with this one, but It involves some serious Hole cutting.
A small thin scoop that is positioned on the bonnet, that has a hole cut through the bonnet.
Then On the Air Box remove the intake Duct.
Make a rubber/Foam Seal that sits in between bonnet and air box as a seal.
This Will Give good clean/fresh Air that is pushed into the air Box.
When It rains You can easily replace the Original Duct still as you have not modified the original ait box.
A Further Little mode may be tried by drilling 3 or 4 small holes in the bottom of the the air box,
This can drain any water collected and help relieve some excess air due to high speed.
Any thoughts on this one? Or buy a second bonnet for modification purposes.

I too took a close look at the airbox / airflow situation when I installed my K&N filter.
I was thinking that creating a different headlight
setup which eliminated the driving light would allow a straight shot for a good column of air
directly at the airbox. On the drivers side you
might be able to get more flow to the IC.
I'll wait until after the warranty is gone before
I play serious re-engineering games though...
As a side note, after finding BIG bug carcasses,
and a piece of gravel in my airbox, I fashioned a small screen to fit in the front of the intake
scoop, its easier to get to to clean....
