Did you notice any performance gains just by installing it and playing with it on the road only?. I think you are still waiting for your turn on dyno so it will be based on tour feel, experience.... Do you think it is a worthy device to install, especially on stock car.

Main reason I wanted it was I'm not running a stock motor!

I wanted to increase the injectors a notch, and the Apexi would allow this to happen with moderated control.

However the stock injection system compensates very good on its own!

I've found the MAF can be "tuned" to specific injectors. ;o)

I dont run a stock ECU. Its a "chipped" German unit, and performes well.

So far all indications are the Apexi will work for me. I just need a few high-rpm runs to make sure it handles the fueling.

Putting it on a "bone-stock" motor will probably yield nothing? All you will be able to do is alter the rich-lean. Only place you may need extra fuel is in the high rpms. But the stock system does good in that area too!

If your running stock, the stock system will do fine.

If you've "heavily-modified" your engine then the Apexi may be an option.

Interesting....by the way, nowhere near $6k. Tops, 4k. I'm doing all of the welding myself, and the installation will be aided for free. If I was paying labor, it'd be 6 grand.

How much would you "charge" to do a repeat performance on someone else's Audi?

$5K? $6K?

My price? How could I charge anyone when I received help from people like you, Rob, cuatrokoop for free? Unethical. I'm doing this to prove to everyone that it is possible. If someone contacted me and said "Primo, build me a kit that I can bolt on directly to my car, with no welding or anything mechanical required..." I'd probably do it for a $500ish dollar profit...if that answers your question. My $4k kit is stacked though....I'm going with standalone engine management, an intercooler, big injectors, the works. I think that someone could probably supercharge for like 2500 bucks with an eaton blower, some larger injectors, and an Apex'i.....I dunno, I'm not trying to half ass things. RobK and I are meeting this weekend, where some final discussions will be done, and then I think next weekend I'm going to start, as it is the end of high school for myself. I'm excited, and I'll do day by day updates for everyone....lots-o-pics.

Both Justin and I are running stock fuel pressure, but it turns out that stock pressure is not 35psi. We are measuring fuel pressure at the front of the fuel rail using a schraeder valve. After a discussion on the 12VDevelopment site, I now believe that pressure through the schreader valve is lower than at other points in the fuel system.

According to the Bentley manual:
Fuel Pressure at idle: 3.2 - 3.8 BAR or 46 - 55 psi (this leads me to believe that we have a 3.5 BAR factory part)

So, Justin is running stock fuel pressure, but don't use the 35psi number as a comparison.

Hope this makes sense.

I don't know if the later 12V uses a different fuel pressure regulator (I doubt it). But they should come stock with a 4 BAR (58psi) FPR. This is unusually high, as the vast majority of fuel injected cars run 3 BAR regualtors. I have verified this both with a fuel pressure gauge which reads 58 psi at atmoshperic pressure (with the car off or at WOT). The rating of a fuel pressure regulator is at 0psi/0" of vacuum. A 1:1 4BAR FPR will give 58psi at WOT, and one less PSI of fuel pressure for every one PSI less that that, so at full vacuum you would see 58-14.7. This is to maintain a constant pressure differential between the fuel rail and the engine.

I measure my fuel pressure with an autometer sender welded into the rail near the injector for cyl #. As well the FPR regualtor has the pressure written right on the top of it

Honestly, how many people do you think are willing to spend in upwards of $4000-$6000 for the Super, on their 1993-1995 Audi 90's?

How many here in this forum?

From previous posts, I seen very few?

PES offered to do a 12V Super, if they got 10 people to fork over $2500 up front, then $2500 on delivery!

Hmmmmm?

Just rambling..........

Thats what I'm saying...I'm doing it to do it, not to make money from it.
