View Full Version : Why is the front of the A4 not as low as the rear

Does anyone know why the front rides higher than the rear? I'm looking for new springs and initially Neuspeed looked appealing but they do a 2 inch drop all around, so I will still have a height discrepancy between the front and the rear. Now I'm looking into H&R because they lower the front more than the rear and I assume that afterwards the wheel gap will be the same for both the front and the rear. My question is: Is there a reason for having the front ride higher than the rear? Will it be bad to lower the front more with the H&R so that I have a uniform gap between all the wheels?

Many of the coilover setups have adjustable ride hight so you could set it how you like. You'll, of course, have to get an alignment and aim the headlights.

I know I ducked your real question. I don't even have a guess about why it's setup that way.

Good luck,
