Hi,
I'm being offered $1700 over invoice for the following car.
Is this a good deal? I think I can do better.
Here's the car:-

99 A4 2.8L Quattro, Moon Roof, Sport package, Leather, Trip computer.

I didn't want the leather & moon roof, plus it's a different color than what I would prefer.

Given that, and the fact that the 2000's are here, I was thinking $32000 for the above PLUS the BOSE CD changer.

This is a 3% profit over invoice which seems very fair to me.
What do you think?

Thanks,

I had a discussion with a local dealership, and he said that though the 1.8T's fly off the lot, the 2.8's are much slower to go.. And as you said, since the 2000's are here, it should be a buyers market for 99.5 2.8's. That's what I bought, and I got a great deal.

Texas.
I'm now thinking maybe 2% over invoice.
~$650 or so.
It's an easy sell for them.

Invoice for the car is $29992, add CD and it's $31048.

Sticker is $33510 (with CD $34710).

They're offering ~$31690 (without CD) which is 5.6% profit

I'm suggesting $32000 with CD or 3.06% over invoice.

Maybe I should start haggling at $31700, just over 2% profit.

Or just wait and get a 2000 model instead.
Or even a TT for that matter.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
