It was a pretty cold long weekend here in Greater Vancouver. Before I went into my local Audi dealership to check out the TT, A6 2.7T and 4.2 (more story later); I locked the doors as usual. There was no "beep" when the door's locked; however, the door's closed properly. The same thing happened ever since that moment, no "beep" whosoever.
Is it because of the battery of the remote or is the alarm?

I had the same thing happen. Only my trunk wasn't closed properly. I managed to drive around for half a day before I went to open it, and found that it was already open. Yours may not be caused by this, but I found trunk needs to be "firmly" closed (not slammed), otherwise it appears to be closed. The trunk doesn't float open like on Japanese cars I've owned.
