I removed the radiator fan relay in the fuse box and did not make any difference. MikTip, can I release a little bit of freon my self, just in case?

MikTip, can I release a little bit of freon my self, just in case? audiboy_17 03-28-2002, 05:05 PM what where you trying to do? MikTip 03-28-2002, 05:17 PM What ya "need" to do is locate & disconnect the a/c high pressure switch, to test & see if its the problem. Releasing freon will do nothing, to verify the problem. Your system may not be over serviced? You need a set of a/c guages to test & see if its over serviced! <img src="http://catalog.exist.ru/pic/parts/VAG12430.gif" border="0"> Item #21(bottom right corner)is your high pressure switch. It has an electrical connector on it. DO NOT TURN ON THE A/C SYSTEM WITH THE SWITCH DISCONNECTED! Damage to your compressor is very likely without the switch connected! If you disconnect the switch, and the fan shuts-off, then its very likely the switch. If the fans remains on, its one of the other systems mentioned earlier. You can drive the car, with the a/c switch disconnected, but make sure the rad fan still regulates your engine temp(doesnt allow engine to overheat). Take the car to get it fixed ASAP! Find out if the a/c switch is stuck because of overservice, or not! Requires the special set of guages to check. |
