Hi guys, First time poster with an old question =]
I have a 93 90 cs auto....and the auto is gettin a bit tired. I also happen to have access to a complete 93 90 non-quat with the 5 spd (totalled) and was wondering if it would be a feasable conversion to put the 5 spd in place of the auto.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
And on a side note: where online is a good selection of 4x108 wheels?
Thanks,
Sterling

Yes, its feesable. I do all my own work, so in a weekend I can have it done. If you dont do your own work, its gonna cost you some $$$!
Ya need to be careful where you get your parts. A "totaled" Audi may not be a good source. Especially if its a "front end" wreck. Normally all the transmission mounts snap off in front end wrecks. You need the mounts for the swap.
Also you need the motor mounts.
Transmission with all mounting hardware.
flywheel & clutch assembly
Complete pedal asembly
clutch master & slave cylinders with plumbing &
firewall seal.
Both drive shafts, complete.
Shift linkage assembly & center console.
You'll need to purchase a new crank shaft pilot
bearing. Remove the current pilot bushing and install the bearing(special tools required)
Then after the install the engine's ECU needs to be "reset" with VAG-COM software.
Its also mentioned the exhaust cat-converters are different on the manual transmission cars, over the automatics? I may need to cut, and modify my exhaust.
Just a little bit of work........

Thanks MikTip =]
I will check out the exhaust on the manual car and take some digital pics to post here showing the differences (if any) between than auto and man.
Now whats this about the vag-com software?
If i just swap ECU's then will I have to do that?
Thanks again,
Sterling

You should be alright if both are the same make.
