i have an audi a2 1.4 tdi
it has developed a high pitched noise to the rear of the car passenger side wheel arch.
louder outside the car than inside, its been to audi and they replaced a modified fuel hose but still no joy, its back and even louder than before.
when i rev the car the pitch changes and gets louder, its not the brakes its more an electrical noise.
can anyone help
cheers

maybe there is a small leak in the exhaust that makes the noise.. or it could be a bearing, in that case it should get louder when you drive faster.
My third guess would be a belt in the engine.
(V-belt, timing belt, etc) this will produce a whining sound.
Did you check these things out?
Let me know what it turns out to be!
Good luck!

im gonna get the car back into my audi dealer soon, the noise is definately coming from passenger rear wheel arch but its definately an electrical noise rather that a mechanical noise.
will keep you posted
cheers

is standing still. That would rule out bearing.

well my car went in for 3 days last week and when i picked itback up they said they heard no noise, which is a joke soon as i drove down the road we had the noise back again, if it gets worse im dropping the car off and leaving on the forecourt till its sorted!!!

well here the latest on my noise problem, my car has been in the audi dealership (stockport mcr) now since 27th march.
As of yet they still cannot track down where the noise is coming from, at least they have actually said there is a problem, so i guess thats a start, only problem is they have given me an A4 2.0 Tdi. jeez this doesnt half drink the diesel compared to my nippy A2.
Regarding my A2 im just about coming to the end of my tether now regarding the amount of time they have had it, am i in my right seeing as though its under warranty to ask for a replacement vehicle??

well they finally fixed the noise after nearly 3 weeks of trying, they replaced the exhaust system the fuel pump and housing and the fueul dampers and hey presto no noise.
on picking up my car i was told my service was due, a princely sum of £295, so i asked them if i get a reduction seeing as though i have had a A4 which drunk diesel like an HGV, they told me i pay for the parts and the labour they would foot, so in total £70 i have to pay, so overall i was well pleased, just want to say AUDI STOCKPORT MANCHESTER, thank you for your service
