And yes it is properly locked into position so something else is getting loose, I think. Any suggestions on how to correct this? or anyone have any experience with this.
thanks

Mine does the same, I've only had the car a couple of weeks and haven't had time to look at it yet. It's pretty annoying though.

My '98 A42.8Qtip driver's seat has jiggled around on the tracks since new. I finally got around to having it fixed - they replaced the seat track - at the final service before it went off warranty at 50K miles. It never bothered me much, but I figured I should fix it on their dime, not mine.
It was a warranty fix, but of course they had to order the parts.

I think most of us learn to live with it. Mostof the dealers will tell you that it is "within spec". A few people have been successful in getting their dealers to fix it. Some have replaced the tracks, and some have replaced bushings.

to the dealer. Shop foreman noticed it also. After I came back later, he demonstrated that ALL of the drivers seats had 'play' in them. Only the passenger seat didn't move like the drivers side does. He basically just said that's the way they are, whatever he did though by messing with it, it seems a little better than before. But he did not replace anything.
