'03 ar: The front passenger tire is showing wear on the outside edge quite suddenly (in the last week or so)... no other tires show this wear. They are Nokian WR's (supposed to be all weather rubber, and it is still cool-cold here, ran them last summer in all temps without any unusual wear) Tire pressure is normal.. checked once/week...
The steering feels normal, as does everything else. Is this simply an alignment issue or have you run into anything like this before that could cause this? Something bent? Still under warranty but not for long...
Thx.

It surely doesn't hurt to put the car on the alignment lift to see if the alignment is off.
But it is very limited what the dealer can do with the allroad. Front axle alignment might be limited to toe only, kind of a weird design.
Also check your control arms and tie rod, the tie rod is the only point where the alignment can be addressed. But first they should check the tire/wheel itself, maybe you've lost a counter-weight and perhaps the imprint is still visible.
Try to approach it as common sense "reversed engineering" to nail it down, Tire, wheel, steering/suspension parts, in that order.

problem. I changed to nineteens recently & stacked my OEM Twin Spokes in the garage. I noticed the GY Triple Tred had excessive wear on the outside edge of the RF tire only. Given that my new wheels had a shimmy at 50MPH I thought it time to align. Cost me 99 bucks for the dealer to tell me it was right on. The issue was the new nineteens were not balanced correctly. Road Force corrected that. The excessive wear is still a mystery. I was running 32PSI in the Triple Tred. I stepped my new ones up to 35 & I am monitoring the wear.

8k on the new tires... all look great but outside edge of front right is pretty worn. Haven't done any investigation yet, but interesting to hear that others are seeing the same thing.
