I have a 2005 allroad with the Nav +. The system doesn't seem to recognize either the Taconic Parkway in New York or the Merritt Parkway in CT. Has anyone else experienced this problem and does anyone have a fix for it?

If you set for "shortest distance" the Merritt comes back into play. The Merritt is not an Interstate highway which I think in NavTeq (software provider) terms, downgrades it in the system. My Nav "Helga" sometimes gets upset with me and tells me to make a U-Turn when I disregard her instructions. I know a few German cuss words, so I usually respond with one and go on my merry way in any event. Unlike a spouse, you can shut the thing off if it becomes too annoying! magilla70 10-04-2006, 07:33 AM We call ours Gretchen, I just recieved a flyer from navteq trying to sell me an updated disc for $199. We havent gotten lost yet so I guess we dont need it. girlroad 10-04-2006, 09:08 AM allestraße 10-04-2006, 12:40 PM she sometimes thinks I would prefer to spend more time with the car or even one of my computers. I keep telling her that an allroad has more German content than she does (being descended from Minnesota farmers, she has both Swedish and German content - a Saaudi?)and I get to choose my allroad's shoes and accessories, as well as shutting "Helga" off when she starts getting on my nerves. I love my wife dearly, but she really needs to stop making the car comparisons. |
