Hi All,
I am new to this group and just bought a 2003 Allroad, my first Audi since 1990 when I bought a 200 Quattro. My Allroad has 45k on it and I am considering purchasing an aftermarket extended warranty. I did not get the car from an Audi dealer so it does not have a audi Certified warranty past the 4/50 factory warranty. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on a decent warranty company?

I've got a '03 2.7T with 45K and researching warranties. I searched the allroad forum ("extended warranty"). There were references to different types of plans and fellow poster mustbeaudi. The search recommended a company named AUL. I called and they said call your dealer as they administer warranties but only sell through dealers. I called my Audi dealer. Dealer is researching cost and will call me back.
I went on the web and tried aaautowarranty.com and warrantydirect.com. Best deal I found (aaautowarranty.com) was $2800 for 100K bumper to bumper, unlimited time, $100 deductible. That is for things that break / fail. It doesn't cover things that wear like brakes and tires. It is often called "exclusionary" meaning if it doesn't specifically exclude an item, it is covered.
I've been spooked recently by the posts concerning the transmission and suspension. I'm still undecided on risking self insuring or buying a warranty.

I too can give you information, but not advice. I bought an `03 allroad back in May 2006. My allroad was under the original factory warranty when I was shopping for a warranty.
Several of the warranty providers give a discount for purchasing a warranty while under the original manufacturers warranty. I shopped and delayed purchasing the warranty while looking for the right warranty.
I found out about the Audi Pure Protection Warranty from this forum. It is really Fidelity Warranty Services. Well, after calling one Audi dealer after another, I was down to my last 3 days of warranty. I extended my calling radius some 200 miles looking for pricing that was not outrageous. I was not succesful in that regard.
It just so happens the last dealer I called was about 17 miles from home and agreed to sell me the warranty at cost! I was told they have a policy to make more money on volume sales than one individual sales. I was at that dealer within an hour.
My allroad has not seen much use since I bought it so I could stay within the warranty while I was searching. I don't think I put 2000 miles on it since I bought it. Obviously, this will change now that I picked up an extended warranty.
I have not used the warranty yet, therefore I can't say whether it's good or not, but I was able to go with the top tier Platinum 5 years/100miles for approximately $3200. Regular retail is over $5700.
Email me if you want more particulars. In the interim, check out what people have to say on the boards about the Audi Pure Protection program. Hopefully, you are local to this dealer, or can use this info as leverage for your purchase.
So many of these warranty companies have gone belly up. If Fidelity Warranty did so, I wanted some recourse with Audi of America.
I'm not an attorney and maybe I don't have specific rights in this regard, but at least I could make a big stink about it if they went under.
The last warranty company I dealt with on my Audi A8 was in the process of going under when I needed to claim a failure in "seat sensor" for the airbag. It was approximately $1300 to replace the sensor. The most the comapnay would pay for was $900. I was angry since they were supposed to cover the cost of the whole repair, but I looked at the bright side that at least a major portion was covered. I only had about 200 miles left on the warranty anyway.
Good luck.

Buncha frikkin crooks! (I got taken as well - they went under after I had the warranty for about a year).
For the AR, I ended up getting an exclusionary policy through mustbeaudi (don't recall exact cost, would have to dig it up).
I second the "do your research" sentiments.

Just had $3350.00 in warranty work done with it. I called around the different Audi dealers locally to get pricing on the Platinum Pricing Plan(exclusionary coverage), because prices will vary between dealers. So far to date.......over $4200.00 in warranty work with nothing out of pocket (besides my $2800.00 intitial buy in)

Well, after extensive research I ended up going with a policy from MBA Direct in Arizona. I found some good reviews and they have been in business for 30+ years. My dealer also is familiar with dealing with them. I was able to get a 5 year/100k exclusionary policy for $2150 with $100 deductible per visit not per covered item. The exclusionary list is short and includes the usual items. They also cover items that no-longer meet manufacturer performance specs as well as breakdown of parts. I opted for the Ultimate package which covers damage to covered parts caused by failure of non-covered parts and vice-versa, otherwise the poilcy would have been $1850. I'll keep everyone posted on my dealings with them.
