View Full Version : Finally found a comfortable seating position!

Relaxed, finally

I finally (after three or four days of squirming in my seat in my new A4) found a comfortable position. For some reason, the contour of the seat back kept causing me pain in my upper back. It felt like there was a lump of some kind hitting my upper back, and the lumbar adjustment didn't fix it. I didn't notice this when sitting in the cars in the dealership.

I finally found that if I tilt the seat bottom way back (i.e. front of seat as high as possible, rear of seat very low), the seat back became comfortable for me.

Thank god I got the 2.8 with the power seats! The 1.8T's don't have the tilt adjustment, just height! It would have been terrible.

from full top position to bottom the vertical travel of the front part of the seat cushion is about two inches (if that), and the back drops 6 or seven inches. It creates more of a bucket feel if you drop it down and bring the seatback forward a bit. However, it intrudes on rear seat room quite a bit.

Cheers,
