For those of you who worry about blowing the engine at redline (like I did), I found out today first hand that Audi has protected the A4 from excessively high revs. (I'm sure many already know)

I punched the gas in second while merging and passing a slow truck. Since I was watching traffic, I didn't realize how fast I hit 7000. When the limiter cut in, it felt like the turbo waste gate opened wide and the gas input was reduced. I started decelerating until I shifted to third.

Everything seems fine. The A4 was made to DRIVE!

99.5 1.8TQMS, not chipped.

I've never hit it in the A4, but I hit it in my Z3 a couple of times by accident.
