I just received an email from my Audi Brand Specialist salesperson that the Audi I ordered on June 29 will not be built until Audi builds a lot more A6's. He said his Audi person says they won't be building ANY A4's until sometime in November and I should anticipate a Dec. or Jan. delivery. The salesperson expressed great frustration at Audi for not informing dealers of this sooner so they could prepare customers for a longer wait. Has anyone else gotten similar news?

I ordered a MY2000 A4 at the end of August, via carorder.com. The dealer's rep told me last week that the car is finishing production, and I am looking at a November delivery as expected. My list of options includes xenon, sideguard, sport, convenience, and cold weather.

It has something to do with it, but it really depends on when the dealer has a car with your engine/trans/exterior color sceduled to be built. If it's a more common combo, it'll probably be produced closer to when you order it than one that is rarely produced. Someone could order in June and not have it built for a few more weeks, yet you could go into the same dealer and if you find a car that is scheduled to be produced next week, and there is no byer for it yet it's yours. So one is built 15-20 weeks after ordering and one is built 1 week after ordering. So it really is loosely based on when you order. The important info to get is the scheduled production week.

didn't have a build week. I started car shopping in Feb and ordered the first of June. I can't believe that I am looking at half a years wait or longer.

00 Santorin/Onyx/Onyx 1.8tQMS, all weather, conv, nav, xenon <---- is this combo that odd????

I ordered an A4 Avant (Pelican Blue, 1.8t, tip, conv. pkg, all weather, Spt wheel) on June 6. It has been sitting at C (released to factory) status for 5 weeks with no build date. He said I should expect it maybe Nov but probably Dec/Jan. All I can say it better be a damn good car if I end up waiting 7 months for it.
