I'm about to order a 2.8 and am dealing with a salesperson at Agincourt Autohouse who has had good reviews here in the Forums. She says that with the 2000's Audi has cut the spread between dealer cost and list and she can only take $1,600. off list. Then there's 630. PDI and 570. freight. I'd appreciate any feedback on if this is close to a reasonable deal.

The only place I've found that has some kind of Canadian dealer pricing is at the URL below.
They charge $25 and say they can provide you with dealer invoice on all options you are considering. I haven't tried them yet,as I'm still undecided as to which Audi to get :)
Does anybody have any other source?<ul><li><a href="http://www.apa.ca">http://www.apa.ca</a</li></ul>

There was a posting several weeks back that gave the 2000 MSRP vs Invoice pricing. I've repeated it below. I just ordered a vehicle from a dealer in the Toronto area and he showed me his invoice price list. It confirmed the earlier post. The base price for a 1.8TQ has gone up by $440 (MSRP up from 35,450 to 35,890) but the dealer margin as dropped by $945 (from 4,905 to 3,960). They have less room to play with and are more than a little peeved at Audi. As one dealer told me, Audi is holding the line on 2000 pricing by reducing the dealers profit.
The A4 is getting so popular (Canadian winters?), and the supply is so limited, that, for the most part, the dealers in Toronto don't need to "deal". I checked out 5 dealers in the GTA. Aigincourt, who is the largest Audi dealer in Canada, had the worst prices. They offered me $1,700 off list, "take it or leave it". Another offered me only $1,800 off list. In the end, I was able to negotiate $2,800 off list. However, situation is unusual in that I was purchasing two vehicles (myself and a buddy "packaged" our orders).
A final observation: Unlike in our neighbour to the south, Canada uses combined Volkswagen/Audi dealers. Every dealer I visited over the past couple of months was incredibly busy. Nearly all the products they sell have been getting excellent press and there is so much "buzz" that the dealers are overrun with buyers. One dealer (Queensway) told me that it's been over 10 years since they've been this busy. When you're that popular, who needs to discount!!
Here's the 2000 pricing:
2000 A4 1.8T Invoice MSRP
