Aunt got one. Automatic. Very nice drivers seat -- huggy and firm. lots of adjustment. Similar in size to A4 loaners I've had. Intimate if a little caustrophobic. Drives tight and firm. not harsh. The thing feels almost toy-like in its tactile sensations. the dials/dash feel a little too small and cartoon-like. Lots of LCDs staring you in the face. Legible but decidedly inelegant. All told a nice drive but a lightweight in feel. I guess i like the audi solidity. Anyone else drive one?

My wife drives a G35. It's been very reliable and I love VQ 3.5 torque. I think for the price a better value than the A4 3.2..

Only one day and about 20 miles, but I flogged it all I could. I was very impressed with the handling and braking - compared to my ar it was like a race car.

Stereo sucked for a luxo car. Seat was quite nice. Thought the dash vent design is the best I've seen functionally, though maybe not the prettiest (and since it was 112 degrees, they were heavily used). Exhaust note was beautiful.

I missed the steering wheel tip controls, though it didn't take long to notice it didn't have tip-lag :-(. One cool feature was that it seemed to automatically shift down one gear when you move the stick to the tip gate - smart, since I always seem to be downshifting when I go into tip mode.

There was an S4 Cab right next to it at Hertz, but I couldn't justify the $60 upcharge for just 20 miles of driving. I thought $20 to get the G35 over a 'standard mid-size' was fair enough...

For the money, G35 is a great car. I'd say the value leader in the segment.

I'm interested in seeing the 450hp replacement Skyline that is running in a G35 coupe shell right now. That should be a very fun, but expensive, car!

A very good friend of mine has one that he has owned a little over a year and the last time we were out for dinner I got to take it for a spin. Was able to get it up to around 80MPH on LSD(mini highway along Chicago's lakefront with a posted speed of 40 during winter) and was actually very impressed at how well the car accelerated. Felt the familiar surge of what could have been mistaken as some sort of forced induction which is obviously not the case with this car. Just the plain old Nissan 3.5liter.
No wonder this engine has been held in such high regard over the course of the last 10 yrs. or so(was originally a 3.0 I believe). I do agree that the interior is a bit lackluster and the orange interior lighting didn't really leave a favorable impression. Nice though and at a great pricing point.

80 on LSD?

Seriously, I've often thought that downtown Chicago would be a great venue for a street IRL or CART race. Think about the course- up LSD, down to lower Wacker, across congress or Roosevelt and back up LSD. Would be wild. But this is Chicago- the city where the mayor can bulldoze an airport if he feels like it.

But at the rate his buddies are getting implicated in all these various scandals, we may have a new mayor come next year.
