I am laughing still..............
Here goes, She calls me asking if her car is faster than a bmw 540 wagon. I said not stock. She said that she needs whatever is necessary to beat this car. I cannot stop laughing. My wife, the granny drivin woman, is concerned with her wagon being fast now.
She said the bmw beat her so I assume it is a faster car but who knows.
All that being said, I might need to get the giac setup now so the wife wont get beat by the other wagons in suburbia. Still cannot stop laughing.
Questions for all..........
1) Where did you purchase your Giac Flashloader?
2) What did it cost and what programs did you buy?
3) Are any other mods required to use the Giac? Heard someone say DV's before I think.
4) If DV's, which ones?
5) Can the DV's be installed by me? I am pretty mechanical with a decent automotive tool setup (snap-on, mac, etc). I have done all mods on the S4 myself (exhaust, intake, SS, ECU).
6) On Giac's site it mentions "GIAC performance software for the 2004 AllroadŽ 2.7T smoothly delivers a 70-80 hp and ~85 ft-lbs gain. "
Are these gains dependent on aftermarket exhaust ?

Thanks,
Mitch (Married to the drag-racin' momma)

search the forum and have fun. Yes you can do the DV's yourself. I did a write up on it..just search.
The GIAC can be $600+ got to AWETUNING.com and look for a local dealer. Have fun!!

the allroad is just a porky B5 S4. Lots can be learned in that rough-and-tumble place, the B5 S4 forum.

www.giacusa.com will have answers about dealers. Where are you located? Assuming her car is a tip, stick to the pump and stock two-program set-up with the flashloader. That'll run you about $700, IIRC. Dv upgrade is important for turbo safety. Audi 710N DV's work great. It's the same part number as stock, but ending with an N instead of a B. Installation is easy. You'll need the crimp pliers for those one-time-use ear clamps. I got mine at NAPA. Clair parts sells a kit of two DVs and the clamps. Use a zip-tie on the little vacuum hose. The chip alone gets all that power. Exhaust might add another 15 horses. The chip is incredible bang for the buck.
