Has anyone had their dealership give them a hard time about installing the additional antenna for the remote in their A4? I requested it because the range on mine is very in and out.. (sometimes great, other times I have to be more or less touching the car) AutoHaus Harrisburg (in Harrisburg, PA) is giving me a hard time about it.. first they told me they did it on the phone then when I went in to pick the car up (it was in for 10k service) and asked about it again they said it was operating within specs... when I bitched they tried to tell me that Audi wouldn't pay for the parts if they weren't broken... when I mentioned they where adding something not replacing something the guy got squirrly and kept making excuses... (to top it all of they didn't wash the car either) I have been very happy with the car but have been very "un-wowed" by AutoHaus Harrisburgs crappy service dept. Part of the reason I bought an Audi was because of the "Audi Experience" deal where for the 3 years of initial ownership they basically do everything for you. Also are they supposed to give me a loaner to get to work and such when the car is in the shop? I thought I heard something about "guaranteed mobility"
on another note has anyone installed a Nokia 6100 series cell phone in an A4 and had it work with the built in car kit?
Thanks,
Josh Ives

Just cut and paste the web address. The FAQ on the A4 site is older than this one...

According to the FAQ, pin 1 is on the left of the RJ45 jack. Pin 1 is actually on the RIGHT. Testing via voltmeter by a number of people have confirmed this. Hope this helps.

Team-A4technik Homepage

Yes, there is a TSB to replace the remote antenna. Check the FAQ and archives for an actual copy. They WILL fix it, you just have to rub their noses in it.
Washing your car is a place by place issue, not an Audi requirement. Hell, I'm happy if they don't damage the car, let alone clean it. Duhh, we overfilled the oil for the 5th time, stripped all the plastic screws and scratched the cover, and still "forgot" to replace the pollen filter.
Loaner is only if the car is immobilized, check the extensive documentation in the glove compartment.
Didn't mean to be a prick. The orientation of the phone jack puts the pins i reverse order when you look at it on end. As a straight thru connection coming out "the other end", the pin is then on the right as you say. You have to view it in reverse when coupling the RJ45 to the connection jack in the car. That is why I point out in the (revised) FAQ that the pin needs to be referenced as shown in the noted picture. Any other way, and my phone wouldn't be working ;)

Please do not spread information that would mislead someone into ruining their car. While pin one is on the right AT THE AUDI connection, it MUST BE ON THE LEFT on the RJ45 PHONE JACK!!!! Trace it yourself and you'll see.
