This morning when I open the car there were rain water all over the front seats and center console from storm thru out the night. "What an idiot" my son said to me and all I was thinking was I will be electricuted when I turn the key to start the car.
Car starts, towel dry the interior and everything seems working find including the heated seats. Whew!
I also realized the headliner is soaked and wonder if there is any damage done to it. Will it separate from the roof? What can I do to salvage this mishap?

TIA,

....there was an inch of snow on the front seats when I got to the car in the morning. Fortunately, It was 20 degrees out so nothing had melted and I was able to brush all of the snow out without anything getting wet. No harm, no foul....accept....my kids called me senile and laughed about it for weeks.....

and came out to find it FULL of Snow. It had been blowing and drifting all night. I think one of my 3 yr olds had been playing with the remote before bed time. Turned it into the rental agency the next day, told them they might want to clean it out. I didn't touch it.

Dry them off and then get Mothers or Coach Leather conditioner and apply VERY LIBBERALLY. overnight. and buff off in the morning.

All should be fine.

out of the carpets, seats, and head liner, (be sure to have a clean head on the vac)Then park in the garage with all the windows and Yes the sunroof open and let dry, treat the seats with leather goop (your choice) Now for the big doller idea, invent a rain sensor that will close the roof and sell it after market. Take that money and buy a new ar. Your car should be fine.

I got as far as coming up with an alibi for the soaked interior.

I will open all windows to air out the moisture and hope there won't be wet stains as the result.

The seats seem ok'd since the heated seats are on. That itself dry it pretty well.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

When my mustang was flooded from stolen t-top's I used dessicant (silica gel pellets) to help dry out the car. it worked wonderfully and left no odor. Just get a bunch of small, wide, flat bowls and fill them up. Just remember the more surface area of the beads the better to help them absorb the water.
