I hear a pop. Less than a minute later, warning lights go off and I shut down the car. I open the door to find all of my antifreeze on the ground. The hose to the radiator has a fitting on it. When installed properly, there is a clip to push down and lock it in place. We'll Mr. Factory Man forgot to push down the clip!!! No big deal. I got a ride to my dealer to get some antifreeze and spent the afternoon filling it back up and cleaning it. Could have been worse I guess.

Anyway....Here the question.. I get a wiff of antifreeze once in a while. I sprayed down the whole engine compartment really good but I still smell it. Should I have the dealer steam clean it or will it dissapate after a while.

It removes the wax seal from the engine. New wax needs to be added afterwards. Mt prevoius engine had wax all over the place.

If you trust the to do it well, go ahead.

There is a lot of flat surface on that thing with some corners which could probably collect fluids. I would just unbolt that from the car and wash it down - it will probably take care of most of the smell if I had to guess.
