Well,
It wasn't really a race: he was in a hurry and so was I :). And I deny emphatically going over the speed limit.
What I noticed is that he had very good in-gear power. But that could also be attributed to his automatic downshifting.
In the corners, there was no contest - the A4 was glued to the road and could have gone at least 10mph faster. There just wasn't any safe place to pass him. When he hit a patch of new ashpalt in a fast corner (about 1 inch thick), his car went all over the place while the A4 just shrugged and kept on going.
Overall, his straight line acceleration seemed a little better than mine, although the difference was very small (if any). Also, I didn't punch it to the metal, I was merely going fast.
For such a huge car, it was pretty fast. But I wouldn't trade his against mine (unless so that I can resell it and get two A4s for the price :).
Bring on the faster beemers, I'm still hungry :),
