it was a nice touch, but mine was amber backlit, perfectly matched to the dash, the knob was black leather and the backlit pattern was white in the day with a very small Audi Sport logo (the //_/ thing).

It all depends on the design. Mine looked like it could have come from the factory, which is the only kind I'd do. Not a big fan of things that scream 'aftermarket' and do not match...
