IMHO, yes it would be stupid to pay full MSRP (sticker price) for a 2000 A4. Heck, even some of the dealers are giving $500-$1,000 off MSRP deals on S4's....and that car is in BIG demand. You're probably right in that getting a great deal on a 99.5 will be easier than a 2000, but I wouldn't pay more than 6% over invoice on a 2000 A4. My $0.02...
