I have a few questions, as I am getting ready to order my Y2K A4. Asking the dealer is like talking to a wall, so I thought even the simplest dealer questions could be best answered by the experts on this board:

1. Do you get two remotes with your purchase of an A4.

2. I noticed that some of the cars have cargo nets, some do not.

3. I also noticed that some of the cars have A4 logo mats, and some do not. It would surprise me very much if a $30,000 did not have the name of the car on the mats.

4. Do all of you have touch up paint? Is this like the impossible question for a dealer to answer.

5. Are wheel locks necessary for a 2.8?

6. Can you get a woodshift knob for the shifter?

Thanks for any answers you can give me. I appreciate your expertise and knowledge. This is a great site!

from my '99.5 expereience:
1. You get two remotes, a "valet" key, and a thin "wallet key".
2. Insist on a cargo net.
3. Not sure about logo mats; mine didn't come with them, but I put in WeatherTech rubber mats.
4. Parts dept. should have touch-up paint.
5. The need for wheel locks depends on where you're parking the car---aftermarket locks are probably more reasonable than Audi's.
6. The only wood shift knobs I've seen are from Momo and are very ($90!) expensive.

Hope this helps.

2. Mine didn't come with a cargo net, but the dealer got me one at no charge. Hopefully, they'll get that straightened out and ship all 00's with them.

3. Mine came with A4 logo mats. I would trade the logo for a better quality mat.

4. Touch up paint for new colors takes awhile to show up at dealers. As of last week my dealer still didn't even have a code for the light silver touch up.

5. I haven't felt there was too much street demand for Audi wheels in our area, but that could change. We found our CRX on its axels one morning a few years ago, so we're sensitized to the issue.

6. I think Clair Parts Express has a wooden shift knob for the A4 for a lot less than $90.
