Thinking about trading up from my A4 2.8QMS. Is that a good deal?

Ad didn't say which tranny it had (auto or stick), or how many miles. Prices vary a bit around the US, but are usually a bit higher on the west coast. Given that is was driven by the dealer (bad), I'd keep looking.

might depend on (instead of the "sticker price") on what you get for your A4 (if your are trading it in and it's a dealer selling). I think I saw a 2001 dealer demo car for sale at about 38K just a while ago. Can't remember the options, though. If you take a look at edmunds.com, you should be able to figure out the original MSRP of the vehicle, hopefully that helps you with the evaluation.

I've got an Alpaka Beige one for sale with the same equipment (it's an automatic) with 19,000 miles and I bought it late in the model year so the warranty runs til 6/2005. It's perfect and has new tires. The only reason I'd like to sell is because I just got into truck camping which meant a purchase of a new F350 Superduty pickup and a new truck camper (adding up all these payments is just a little high now). Also have a BMW, so don't need 3 vehicles in a 2-driver household. E-mail me if you have any questions or are interested--pmichels@aol.com.
I'm in MN, but lived in Portland for many years and visit several times a year (your sig looks like you're from the Portland area). I'll be there in October if not sooner.
Let me know.
I found a 2001 alpaka fully loaded (no CD Changer, parktronic or nav system) in Pennsylvania for $39k. It had only 7500 mi. it was a dealer car. the real issue is where you buy this type of car. I live in Utah and could not get close to that price around here.
