Everytime I'm driving at night, I constantly have people flip their brights at me, thinking my brights are on - it's really getting boring - you would think most people know about Xenon's??? This happen to anyone else?

Several times a vehicle directly in front of me (no, I'm not tailgating) will either hit the brakes or coast to a crawl, forcing me to pass. Then as soon as I get in front of them, they start flashing their lights at me. My first instinct is to get even, but then I just say to myself "the other guy's just an ignorant jerk who is not worthy of my attention." Then I floor it and watch him disappear in the mirror, he's now embarassed at being blown away by a "station wagon."

god I love annoying lights!!! muhahahahaha
all the ricerkids with their wannabee hyperwhite lows are sooo envious. as to Traction MD's comment, I love it when they let me pass to escape the blinding wrath of my xenons...get out of the way! good news is that you are well seen on the road, i.e. going away from the sun at sunrise or sunset, which without your lows on, can make it hard for others to see you in their rearview mirror... bad news is that you are well seen on the road, i.e. cops. 8^0

It's kinda funny though... I can always recognize an audi or a beemer comin' down the road by the lights....kinda cool...

they let you get in front and flash their high beams in a lame attempt at revenge, they don't realize how well autodimming mirrors work. Boy do I love them.

and if you're not into cars and don't know about HID... then man, it's annoying. I've seen some BMWs and Audi's that were just WAY TOO bright... like they were misaligned or something.

One night on vacation, I was watching from a 2nd story balcony as my wife returned in the ar. I could recognize the car immediately because of the xenons. There was a flood in the street near the house and she had to go very slowly though the standing water. As she did, I got hit by the reflection of the lights in the water. It was almost like looking at the sun!

This is absolutely correct, the self adjustment for the Xenon lights takes exactly 19 seconds before they fall into the right position (on most Cars like Audi,BMW, VW and MB). It is also to consider that the high power voltage to ignite the Xenon Gas takes that long to head it up completely. You are on the right track and this is a normal process for these Kind of Lights.
Thanks,
Thomas
