Anyone try one of these yet? They are sold by Meguiars and Imparts. I also saw it advertised elsewhere for $140. It's a dual action variable speed polisher. I polished and waxed my A4 by hand last time and ended up with swirl marks. Now I want to get those swirl marks out. Meguiars says it is safe for inexperienced users. I may also try the Meguiar's Gold Class Clearcoat Prep and Swirl Reducer if I don't get a polisher, otherwise I'll probably get the #9 swirl remover to use with the polisher. Any advice on the polisher or removing the swirl marks by hand would be appreciated.
Mark (black 98.5 2.8 QMS)

A guy I work with has one and loves it. With the sponge pads you can't rub though the paint on corners like you can with other buffers. I plan to get one. Where have you seen it for $140?
Check out www.coastaltool.com
It's in the new product setion. It looks to be the same one offered by Imparts and Meguiars.
Mark

You should do your polishing in a front to back motion...not in a circular pattern.
swirl marks shouldn't be as much of a problem then.

Highly recommended!
It is true you can't mess things up with it. Best gift my wife gave me!
-randy
First off, if you have swirls it sounds to me that you are either washing your car incorrectly or using inferior products while hand polishing/waxing.
I have a Porter Cable variable speed random orbital polisher, model 7336. It is probably just like what you are looking at. I use the foam pads with it, one for polishes only, the other for waxes only. It is totally safe, I love it. I paid about $200 for it last year, go for this deal 'cause it sounds like a good one.
