I´m waiting for delivery of an A3 1.8t and i was wondering if anybody knows if it is possible to put a TT chip in the A3 1.8t engine (same engine as the A4 1.8t).
Since here in mexico there isn´t a lot of info about this and there aren´t any after market chips here, any info would be appreciated.

Jorge,
I also live in Mexico and have been trying to get my A4 1.8T chipped. I've found some options:
1. Audicenter Puebla can get you a Hoppen/mtm chip, although this requires to have your car garaged for some 2-3 weeks. It runs about US$1,000. (talk to Kurt Pinner, service manager)
2. Wetterauer has a distributor here in Mexico, checkout www.wetterauer.com.mx Their product also sells for about US$1,000, plus tax.
3. I've talked to both APR and Garret and they could ship the spare ECU with their chip installed. You need to find the number of you OEM ECU to see if they have a suitable chip and can get an A3 spare ECU.
4. Just received a letter from Audi AG telling me that Quattro Gmbh products are supposed to be available in Mexico from the Audi dealers. I've yet to contact Audi de Mexico on this issue, but this seems to be the best option so you wont void you warranty.
Is your A3 a 2000 model? It is supposed to have 180HP, I don't know if the difference to the S3's 210HP is only the computer, could be the case. Where are you buying it?
Saludos

No estoy seguro si sea modelo 2000 o 1999, pero el folleto que me dieron en la agencia (Mazaryk) dice que tiene 150hp, lo voy a tener que investigar más a fondo.
Muchas gracias por toda la información
