according to the Rusnak ad in yesterday's LA Times, we've all been snookered and were foolish to have already bought and enjoyed our A4s. Why? Because now we are supposed to "test drive the much improved 2000 A4's."

If only I'd known .....

So, i guess the only "snookees" are you left coast boys. Besides, i've already put 3 coats of wax on my car. I'm not giving it back now. I will enjoy my car until i'm told not to.

Is Otis Chandler still the head LA Times guy? I met him many moons ago. My brother and i were invited to a photo shoot at Riverside raceway. Otis and his endurance racing partner were shaking down the ex Donohue Porsche and an ex Wyer Porsche 917. I was able to take one lap with him in the 917. Upon accelerating, i barfed into the helmet. Didn't phase him at all-he still drove the lap at about 8/10th's. Funny, but, a true story. I guess i should have told him that i had one of the most sensitive inner ears known to man. That's why i've always stayed with slot car racing for my racing buzz.

Of course every mfr. every year will claim that their current offering is an improvement over last year's... market psychology, for good or bad. Only after the fact do you find out whether the "improvements" stand the test of time...
