and it's wonderful. I'm very impressed with the ride and the power and ... pretty much everything. The only mechanical weirdness so far are the wipers - as others have experienced they weren't adjusted correctly so they smashed together. Since my dealer is far, far away I called and the fix is relatively easy for me to do. If anyone needs the instructions e-mail me.

Since I had to cross the Cascade mountains, it's too dirty for pictures now, but when I can get it clean - pictures will follow.

Had the TT in medford yesterday and talked to GW who said your car was about to arrive... sure would like a full report on how it handles in Southern oregon. Will look for you on the road. We really need a dealer in medford.....

After reading an earlier thread regarding the wiper problem, I mentioned it to my dealer on delivery day. He said the wiper adjustment from transport to delivery is a specific item on the dealer's pre-delivery checklist. If it's not done, your dealer's at fault. What else did they skip?

Got mine at Parktown Porche/Audi in St. Louis, MO. Treated like a prince, great deal and no problems 280 miles strong ... itchin' for a real road trip.

Good point. Everything else looks fine. At least they did do some checking prior to delivery - seems there was a problem with the cruise control switch, which they replaced before I picked up the car. They (Carrera Motors, in Bend, Oregon) received about 20 pre-sold Audi's at once (including mine), which totally swamped this small dealership. I suppose they can be forgiven for missing something.

The service manager offered to ship me new wiper blades to replace the ones that were damaged (and I took her up on it).

They claim to be focused on service (#1 in the NW) - for example they provide free loaner cars to customers for all service calls (maintenance and warranty work), and I've received good reports from other forum members concerning their service department.

I certainly had a good buying experience dealing with their salesman Jim Scott. He was informative and honest (if he didn't know he said so instead of making it up). For example - I didn't trade in my old car, so I flew in to get the car. He picked me up at 7:15 AM at the airport (20 miles from the dealership) and took me to breakfast! I recommend him highly. A real gentleman.

As shown in previous threads the wiper issue is one that is missed by other dealers. I agree one should overlook a little mistake and give some credit to us all being human. But if the rest of the experience was poor, it's one more sign of a problem. Sounds like a good experience overall, and the willingness to provide new blades off the bat shows they're up to the game.
