Had my new toy for a couple of days. Feedback about the paint work has been amazing. Many people have said thay they liked the allroad concept but didn't like the full on offroad look of the guards. They love this. Also people have said that it looks like a slick urban car when low, but like a tonka toy when pumped up (can't wait till the 18" wheels arrive). Anyway here are the pics.
Oh and the 'park-tronic' still works great.

They are the standard Audi ones. Look great and have a clever rubber strip along the top but they do generate a bit of road noise.
Though I must admit the Black / Grey is starting to grow on me ...

How loud is it and at what speeds? Do think a fairing would help?
Anybody out there have experience with fairings?
I found these pictures from an old-time AudiWorlder in the 1998 picture poster.

It looks like you would want to move the fairing forward, to keep the slope of the windsheild going.
Rod, what do you plan on carrying up there,

Its your car...but to be honest...it looks more like an A6 Avant now. I guess it will have to grow on me for awhile.
Enjoy your new rig...I wish I had one.
I was surprised that it was noticable. I had similar racks on my A4 but I had an MTM exhaust which was quite boomy. Maybe its that teh Allroad is so quiet that I notice the noise of teh airflow around the racks. Heading away for 10 days so I'll report after that.

Your car looks fantastic!!! Ignore the post that says it looks like a standard A6 since it really looks like an S6 or maybe a RS6. Since I recently sold my S6 avant and am going to replace it with a black allroad; your car looks like the closest thing to a S6 available on the side of the pond. GREAT JOB!! What did they charge for this handy work?
Please post some new pixs with the new wheels.
It was only about $2,000. Less than 4 days work.
With the Allroad guards it looks a lot more butch than a standard A6, even angrier than an S6.
It actually looks small when you see it from afar as it is so chunky. But when you get up close you get a sense of how big it is.

It is my alter ego...StealthS4.
Sorry, to me it does look like a silver A6 Avant. But then again...I am just one data point right?..its his car...I say let him do what he wants to it.
I wanted to paint my A4's lower valences from black to Laser when I had my A4...it would have been the same thing.
I am not dissin the guy..or his rig.
BTW, I have seen my share of S6 Avants...my friend
Peggy Eyges has a blue one.
I also like the look of wbk's silver allroad with the rocket box and I think the grey and black allroads look great as well. Everyones opinion is different.
I am absolutely stoked with my car. It has exactly the look I want. Just hanging out for the 18" wheels to fill out the guards more.
Choice of any car in the world right now would still be an allroad.

Looks much better with all the black parts painted silver....
Makes me want an allroad now - maybe for my girlfriend......
Regards,
I agree with you Rod. I can't think of a car that offers more right now than the allroad. I was racing to get to a Xmas service at my wife's sister's church. Even with the Yakima box on top I asked her how fast we were going. She said "75"... we were going 100 at the time. No noise, no drama, solid as a rock and loaded with presents, skiis and gear. What a vehicle!
