I am not sure if I want leather in my next Audi and like to
better understand the pros and cons of the cloth seating
material offered in the 2000 model. I live in an area where
the winters are cold (-20F) and summers are hot (90F).
Your comment would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I've always liked cloth seats more than leather (although I do understand the Panache thing). Cloth seats are warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Leather is exactly the opposite. They are very cold in the winter (but we have heated seats...cancels that out) and very hot in the summer. They take very long to cool down too, if they ever do that is. Cloth is also grippier. I had the (not sure what it was called)."Jacques..Velour"..option in my '93 90S and I couldn't be happier. In my A4, I got leatherette mainly because it had a leather look (which my wife wanted) and it was much cheaper than leather.

Nothing wrong with leather though. It smells expensive and nice too. Depends mostly on your needs and priorities.

If you've ever driven home sweaty from the gym and smelled your cloth seats the next day, the benefits of leather become pretty obvious. I think the leatherette is nice too if you don't want to spend the $$$.

If I were so sweaty, I would have stained the leather seat especially
if it's light color??
