Made a decision at last on Tip vs. 6spd. Bought the Tip. On the way to the dealer to pick it up I drove my 6spd 2.7T for the last time. Got stuck in rush hour traffic. Drove it to work this morning in a miserable 2 hour commute in the Twin Cities in Minne-snow-ta and realized that the way traffic has been lately the manually totally sucks! I had to have the manual in the 2.7T.

Its even balkier when it gets below 0 and the gear shift feels like its stuck in cement. So when I made it to the dealer today it was definitely an easy choice all things considered. If traffic hadn't gotten increasingly worse here I might have stuck with a 6spd. I hade even told my sales person that I wanted to go that way. But the commute today did it in. I went with the Tip. I also am considering doing some towing and it will be much easier leaving an boat ramp with the Tip as well.

I thought I would be kicking myself but so far the shorter gearing has made it much more livable than driving it in the 2.7T sedan. All in all I am impressed. I hate to say it but I think its a better car than the sedan. The amount of heads this thing turns is amazing as well. What a nice car. I ended up with a very nicely optioned but I didn't get the 3rd row seats. After having the Xenon's on my 2.7T I HAD to have them again. For some reason they seem even better on the Allroad. What a nice SUV. ; ) One plus that I really enjoyed over my old A6 was the heated steering wheel. Tonight it was -5F when I picked up the car and it definitely helps keep your fingers nice and toasty.
