After reading through the forums, I'm noticing there are more than a few folks that think the Bose upgrade isn't worth it...I ordered it, but I'm now having second thoughts... While I can still change my order, is there anyone that has heard both units? Does anyone think it was money well spent?
If you didn't get the Bose, do you wish you did?
I have the 160W Bose in my '98 A4 and I've never been too impressed by it....

Suggest going to a dealer and sitting in one with and one without and listening to a good CD (non-acid rock) for 10-15 minutes each and go with the one you like better. It doesn't matter what other people think, everyone hears things differently. Might save some money. I have the Bose--very happy. Best stock car audio system I've had so far.
Enjoy the new ride when it comes :)

What Finman said.
Except I'd also bring a CD that *doesn't* have particularly good fidelity to see what the "Bose-lift" is.
I personally was disappointed with the Bose in my allroad. But the stock units they'll include otherwise are poor.
I'd take the money and go to a audio specialist and get something high-end with an equalizer of sound is your thing.

Excellent point. I considered a few different aftermarket high-end systems, but hated the idea of someone tearing my car apart, so I settled for the Bose which to my ears is pleasant.

By far the best factory system I ever heard under 1k. There is a huge difference between stock and the bose. You will regret not having it. Unless you just dont really care about music. Good luck with the car.
