Test-drove an Allroad this last weekend. Considering many different wagons for a purchase, MB E320, BMW's, Volvo, Audi A4, A6 etc. The Allroad I drove was very nice with a great general appearance, acceleration, handling, ride was okay, however little harsher than I expected. Interior and paint was the best quality of any current production car I have checked out. There was one exception, a water stain from a leaking left rear quarter panel window. This was on the fabric of the rear C-pillar above the cargo area. This was evident by an 18" diagonal white line of what appeared to be salt crystals. The window appeared to have leaked during a resent rain.
Leaning toward either a S4 Avant w/6 speed or Allroad also with the 6 Speed manual transmission. Sorry that the two speed transfer box not available. I guess it was shot down by the bean counters and "market experts". Seems odd that Audi would add all the OFFROAD DECORATIONS (which are a put-off at least to me) and delete a true offroad necessity.
