I am going in for my 7.5K service in a couple of weeks. My A4 was built in March 98. Like many of you, I have very marginal remote range. I have found and printed a page from the archives that says:
Audi Technical Bulletin
Subject: Folding Key (Keyless Remote Transmitter), Increasing Distance Range
Model(s): A4 Sedan 1998
Group: 57
Number: 98-02
Date: June 16, 1998
Condition: Low remote transmitter range (remote functions operate only within 5 feet or less).
Production: Improved transmitter beginning production 03.98 with VIN: 8DW128920
My question is: Does this mean that A4's built 3/98 or later already have this fix built in, and there is no further improvement available under warranty? Has anyone with a more recent build had this done? I don't want to rely on my dealer to answer this because I know some of you have had difficulty convincing your dealers to do this when they definitely should.
Thanks in advance!
