Folks,

If you have read Peter Barada's (Audizilla) letter and agree that there are enough issues to warrant a recall of the 2008 ACNA election, the time to act is now. The ACNA Board of Directors will not do anything about the election unless we, the membership, convince them that they must. Although one would hope so, the sad truth is that Peter's letter alone is simply not enough. We must raise our voices and state that we believe that the election must be recalled and started anew.

The board will meet on Saturday, November 1 and if we do not have them convinced by that time, the task of having a recall will fall upon the shoulders up us, the membership. If they do not vote, and approve, a recall at that meeting, we will have to force a special meeting of the board. In order to do so, we will have to gather signatures from 5% of the membership, garner their proxy votes, and one or more of us will have to travel to Oconomowoc to meet with the board and vote to rescind, a series of herculean tasks that nobody relishes.

Our chance to persuade the board to do what is right and good for the club is extremely short. I ask that everyone who believes that a recall of the vote is in the best interest of the ACNA to please send an email, right now, to every member of the ACNA board of directors stating support of Peter Barada's letter. It doesn't have to be lengthy, in fact simpler is better. Just let them know that they must act.

As of this point, over 800 people have read the letter and nobody, including directors, has disproven any portion of it.

To help rescind this mess, I've created the following link. By clicking it, you will create an email to the entire ACNA board. Simply fill in your name, ACNA ID number and click send. Get the board to do the right thing.

<a href="mailto:dean.acna@gmail.com,hornerjw@aol.com,searle y@gmavt.net,msvphoto@pacbell.net,matthew.hull@ngc. com,mjperry2@verizon.net,kent@karquattro.com,mike@ nsfi.com,marywayers@aol.com?subject=Rescind the 2008 ACNA Election&body=I have read Peter Baradas letter and believe that the ACNA Board of Directors must rescind the election immediately.%0A%0AThank You, %0A%0A">Create Email to Board of Directors</a>

Time is short. We need to give this club the direction it needs. If you've volunteered, participated, attended or enjoyed any of the events or benefits the ACNA, and especially your chapter, has offered, please send an email right now!

Thank you,

I grabbed the email address from the ACNA web site. Apparently, it needs to be updated.

my contract called for the ACNA to get my ad up for the free trip to the Nürburgring we were giving away up on their website.

Our contract started in January that year. The webmaster finally got it up in December, 11.5 months later and after the trip was given away.

Surprisingly, we do not sponsor at the national level now.

That's... Jeez... It's so far beyond pathetic that I don't have the words. I need a thesaurus.

I thought there was even a lawsuit or something admittedly I do not pay much attention to the national club inner workings but, I thought I saw something not so long ago

wasn't that webmaster actually getting paid vs. volunteer?

Liechty, president of the club at the time, couldn't get it up on the site.

We gave away a $4,000 (rough, don't remember) trip for two to the Ring, as well as sponsored a $2,000 value (same) photo contest and both only made it into the fall issue of the QQ and onto the website on Dec 15 (again, give or take a few days), after the trip was to be given away.

I was cc'd on countless demands by board president Liechty to get our ads online and in the publication. Excuses were granted every time, for months, and months, and months.

Tons of new things made it on the website, but not our stuff.

My opinion and I was informed that the Exec. Director was very tight with Mike Veglia, who was the main contributing photographer until our arrival. Veglia even claimed for years he is was the official club photographer (plenty of links here on AW), but that title has never been awarded, not even to us as sponsors. We were the "Official Photographic Agency". Yes, a board member lied about this. Better yet, he made this claim in his Board of Directors ballot biography. Yes, he lied in his bio and Karen Chadwick, the QQ publisher knowingly printed a lie. Not surprisingly, after I brought this up, all ballots since then have noted that the ACNA is not responsible for the accuracy of the bios.

Like the majority of contracts, all Veglia had to do was outbid us. Put more sponsorship, more coverage, have a quality mobile sales set up, etc. I was informed he never countered with an offer. Had he even put an equal offer up, he would have certainly won the bid. He had the history, we were the new guys.

But yes, he was/is paid. Just like you to do the ACCCC site, right! Big Bucks! : ) Kidding, of course. We all appreciate what you do a tone.

Last year a lawsuit ensued over the illegal dismissal of two sitting ACNA Directors.

One would figure with that black eye the ACNA BoD would have bent over backwards to do it right, but no...<ul><li><a href="http://www.acnasupport.com/acna_issues.htm">ACNA issues of 2007 (including legal paperwork and decision)</a></li></ul>

Back to your keyboard.

j/k of course, I'm grateful for your unselfish dedication of time and effort toward our Local Chapter's website.

as technically, there is a contract there that we have to honor. But I am volunteering my time. If ACCCC were an actual paying client, OMG it would totally different.

Sorry - couldn't resist.

Mike - if I had a dime for each of your keystrokes, Warren Buffet would be working for me!

but in the shortest form:

I was informed by many of the "white hats" on the national board, was that the Exec Director/QQ publisher was delaying the input out of spite, as the national board voted our photo contract in against her wishes (due to her many years friendship with the Veglia).

The contract was, correctly, looked at as company "A" offer vs company "B" offer (or lack thereof), not in "hey, he's my friend". As with all ACNA decisions, they are supposed to be made on what's best for the members. See bylaws.

It should also be noted that Veglia voted on the photo contract situation, refusing to recuse himself, and that he is one of the editors of the QQ.

His dishonestly in his representation of his position, photo wise to the club, is on record and provable. Ballot, postings, website, etc.

What I've found out in the last few weeks has been eye-opening, to say the least.
What bothers me the most is the ACNA BoD has a LOT of great people on it. Unfortunately, they have a LOT of, ummm, sub-standard, ego-centric #$%@@%#!&amp;* as well.

This is the time for us to either force a clean election process or begin planning for the Nuclear Option. Seriously.
