Hi. 10 days ago, after leaving a gas station, my '98 A4 2.8QTip sputtered and stopped. I had it towed to the dealership that night. As of today, I still do not have it back...they had to
wait several days to get a replacement part for the mass airflow sensor which did not fix the
problem...and now, I've been waiting for 2 days on a new ECU. This seems to be quite a long time to fix a problem. Is this typical repair time on an
A4????

Sometimes it does take a while to repair some things. I'm not sure what's wrong with your A4 and honestly I don't think the repair guys do either and that's probably why it's taking so long. Better safe then sorry. I'm sure they're checking every possible thing to make sure that when you do get it back it's in perfect condition. So i wouldn't rush them. Patience (which most of us don't have) is key!!! =)
Jason
98.5 1.8T pearlescent

I know that patience pays off in situations such as this, but the annoyance here is that I was told the ECU would arrive Thursday morning (backordered from Canada)...as of Friday afternoon, the thing has not shown up yet. Does Audi not do FEDEX overnights on backordered *vital* parts unless I complain???
Thanks for allowing me to vent.
Still grumbling,
kms

I can understand your frustration...that is kind of questionable on why it acutally is taking them so long to mail a VERY IMPORTANT piece. I hope they just didn't put it in an envelope and drop it off in the nearest mailbox. Maybe you should see the Waterboy tonight...Adam Sandler can vent for you...=)
Jason
just a thought, but I'm sure someone checked for water in the gas (if you just filled-up)

my car has been in the dealership for 2-3 weeks now, and they tell me they don't know when the part is going to come, because the part is no where to be found in the whole USA, and the world basically... it is only a power steering pump, and there is no part... my service guy say they might be building the part for my in Germany... Can you believe that S...T!!!
at least you got a part that is coming in... I don't know how long I have to wait.... I got to complaint to Audi of American
Kevin
