I've essentially stopped speeding on the highway with the speed cameras / camera vans since they'll ticket you for 2mph over...

We'll plan more as the day comes closer.

They are prosecuted by Corporation Counsel (city attorneys) at the Daley Center, not State's Attorneys. I think the tickets are under some special City of Chicago municipal statute, they don't ticket you for violating the state law against speeding. Similar to what they do with the red light cameras.

I've seen the posted signs but not a camera. Are they confined to stretches with workers where we likely observe posted limits? Do they need a front plate shot to nail you?

... I think the vans are the only ones active during the pilot program. They LOVE being in the middle of an off-ramp and getting everybody who doesn't slow down to 25 or whatever the off-ramp speed is -- that's the first camera ticket I heard of on 6speedonline awhile back, not in a construction zone.
