Young people are very dramatic. It's life and death if you sell your Prelude and you're shouting HELP (me!), and you presume that it's funny that someone with money might buy it from you as a favor or buy you your favorite car (because you're attractive). Well, young woman, Honda is not the world's worst car and if you put it in the paper for a realistic price, you will sell it.

Heavily modified cars require speciality buyers, and your car apparently has a modification or two :>) At minimum, get your car listed on a web page, autoweb.com, yahoo.com, plus whatever the honda modified web site classifed pages are.
And at minimum, you should be advertising in Los Angeles and San Jose papers, with a classified ad linked to your web page.
At worst, maybe you can just dismantle your parts and put the original stuff back in. You might even make more than than your asking price by recovering some money for your parts, plus the blue book value of the original car.

What I would do is go find a hood from a junk yard and repaint it to match your car. It may cost a bit more money, but I really don't think you would be able to sell the car otherwise. As you mentioned before, it's just too personalized. You've got autobody sponsorship. Might as well give it a try.
Just an idea.

Northern California A4 club had an event here last Saturday in the BlackHawk museum in Danville. I would say abpout 3 dozen A4's including 2 S4's and a black TT. Each of them had their own distinct personality and upgrades. Lots of fine people too. Too bad my lil bro too young for you he he. Good luck on selling your prelude. Don't kill yourself yet :-)

http://team-a4technik.theshoppe.com

britoki makes some good suggestions below. Here are a few more to try if you haven't already. Ask your local tuning shops if you can advertise your car at them. Also, advertise at coleges. Especially those with a lot of foreign students. I mention this because in Boston, there are large numbers of European, Asian, and Arab students who are absolutely loaded and love to buy and modify cars. Driving down Commonwealth Ave. (where Boston University is located) you can see everything from heavily modded Hondas and VW's all the way up to exotics. Good luck.

Yahoo classified
Classifieds2000.com (I successfully sold a car there, but it was a stock BMW Z3).
Also San Francisco Chronicle has an on-line classified section.
I'd try the LA Times and the San Jose Mercury news- I think both have on-line advertising also.
For a highly modified car like yours, associations such as NASA and SCCA have advertisements in their printed papers (I get these monthly I believe) - I think you can find their phone # in their websites and call to place a printed ad.
You can also bring your car to track/ autocross events with FOR SALE signs in it, have flyers available listing all the mod's you've done, and if the car has won any races for you.
You're looking for an A4? How about gently used 1997- 1999 model? There are MANY people on the board here trying to sell their A4's to purchase their S4's. It'd save you a bunch over buying new (sales tax, license, depreciation, etc) plus you'd probably get a car that's at least chipped......
hmmmm I was in the same boat thinking my Z3 wouldn't sell (it was one year old and over $30K still). Then it suddenly sold!
PATIENCE, girl, patience. Soon you'll be on the track with us in the A4's!! :)
