I would like to know, if i need anything other than the CD changer to install(like adapter, installation kit etc) mine is a 99.5 A4 1.8T.
And apart from the online stores, did anyone have any experiences with stores in SanFRancisco/ Bay area? Heard that Fry's does the installation too free? any experiences?

You don't need anything but the four mounting screws if you buy the OEM unit. That unit is available at Clair Parts (www.clair.com).
