now looking for a road specific bike for triathlons; no mountain bikes. found a few triathlon packages that had most of the gear i need including a Scott S60 for $700 shipped or a Felt Z1000 w/ aerobars for $950. id know they have the worst components, but are they even worth it?
if i could, i'd rather spend the $700, but want to make sure i get a bike that won't break down on me after 1000 miles or so.

Always had good luck with Felts. That being said - do you have a bike shop that you are looking at? To me, a good shop almost as important (if not more so) than the bike. They can recommend race-specific equipment recommendations, fit you, etc.
If you feel like practicing your time trial racing, you can always come to our ABD Indoor Time Trial next week!

my boss has two QR carbon tri bikes he'd like to sell. One is a 54c, the other a 56c I believe. They were literally only used for two races and both spec'd really well, and can be had in your budget.

the 56 may be a hair too small, what is your inseam? (wow, never ask a man that on the internet before)
The bikes are carbon frame/fork, full Ultegra gruppo, Velocity carbon rims ... really nice spec for the price. If you know anyone else from 5'4 - 5'10, pass along the word.
That said, go see Eric. He'll dial you in.

Sorry I was a little out of it, I have been rocked by a sinus cold for a bit now. We have the bike in the warehouse, so let me know.
