Talked to some friends back home and among other things Audi they tell me that R8's are now selling for 130-150k+ EUR, about 30-50% mark up over regular invoices. This is all done by private brockers/dealers and not Audi itself. There is close to 2 years wait list for a new R8 through Audi appearantly.....Interesting, I thought, first Audi to not only not depreciate fast but actually appreciate. Wonder how long this may last?

Then again I don't buy cars as investments and really don't care about the resale side.

FYI... Latest issue of "Elegance" magazine (not the ghey-style "Elegance" you subscribe to already, the other one) has a "market update" on all Porsche Turbos. For not caring about re-sale, it would appear you've done wll in that regard on dat black bish.

but for an Audi, CPO'ed is the right way to buy these car for sure; either that or drive them until the wheels fall off and you catch up with the curve.

Getting something that has already depreciated 40% is nice. Slightly higher rates on used cars are not as nice so I am overpaying to get through the term sooner.

cars as barely used that were demos or low mileage of the current or just past model year and avoided the instant depreciation hit (except the RS6 apperently) and got as a bonus the full original warranty plus the extended certified. Works great when you find a great/clean example.
