Seems like autosupermart.com is offering LIFETIME warranty on the PIAA superwhite, but i have heard that they DO have very short life. I have heard some good things about the Solaris Ultrawhite, but anyone has any update on their PIAA or Solaris lights?

Solaris Ultrawhite

I have the H4 PIAA Superwhites for my truck and they have been working fine for 8 months so far. The difference between Superwhites and regular bulbs is amazing, although my upgrade from crappy US-spec halogen lights to these beautiful Hella H4s is like night and day. Problem with lighting upgrades is that it's addictive- I want more. Thinking about getting some fogs and rally lights for the front now.

Audi content- the good news is that the 99.5 projector lamp setup is really bright. Compared to my H4/Superwhite setup on my truck, they are nearly the H4's equal, although the ride height differences may account for that as well. The bad news is that the H7 bulbs make it impossible to put Superwhites in there just yet. PIAA USA tells me that the import Japanese H7 Superwhites have a very short life, so they are to be avoided. The ones that are sold by authorized US dealers should meet the European spec (forget the actual name of the spec) that Hella, Cibie, Osram and some other companies all follow. I will definitely install Superwhites in the headlights when they become available. I cannot see why not- brighter lighting at the same wattage as stock. Even with a shorter bulb life, they are worth their cost, IMHO.
